If you are thinking of visiting King's for the first time, here's what you can expect...
What's the usual format on a Sunday morning?
King's Community Church is visited and attended by a whole range of people: young and old, single and married, those with and without children, those dressed in jeans and those dressed in suits, locals and students, and people from many nations. Our meetings start at 10.30am and you will be met on the door by members of our stewarding and welcome teams. Our gatherings are lively with contemporary praise and worship for about 45 minutes, followed by some teaching from the Bible for a similar length of time. Our meetings usually finish between 12.00 and 12.30 and are followed by tea and coffee which is an excellent opportunity to stay behind and get to know people.
What about children and teenagers?
We really value children and teenagers at King's Community Church. We welcome the life and laughter that they bring with them so you don't need to worry about trying to keep them quiet! We have a thriving children's work called 'Excite' for children under secondary school age. 'Excite' consists of three groups including a creche facility for the pre-schoolers. For the secondary school age group we have a youth group which also meets on alternate Friday evenings. Everyone working in these groups has been CRB checked and is familiar with our child protection policy. These workers are passionate about introducing Jesus to young people and encouraging them to grow in their faith.
What are the facilities like?
We meet in a warm, modern building with toilet facilities including a disabled toilet and baby-changing facility. There is an induction-loop system fitted and a projector screen for displaying song words. We have an exciting building project taking place to renovate the areas of the building that have not yet been updated.
What else goes on during the week?
We have weekly 'Life Groups' that meet in various locations across the city. The 'Life Groups' are small groups that meet together for Bible study and prayer based around the purpose of reaching out to the local community – they are also an excellent way to get to know other members of the church. There is a Sunday evening prayer meeting once a fortnight during which the church gathers together to seek God on where He is taking us and what He is saying to us. There are also many social gatherings and outreach events that take place throughout the year.
How else can I get involved?
There are many opportunities to serve within the church particularly on a Sunday morning. For example, meeting and greeting, serving tea and coffee, working with the PA team. Volunteering in this way is another great way to get involved in the life of the church.

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know you are my disciples, if you love one another."
