“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” [John 3:16, NLT]
For many people, God is a distant figure who is somehow removed from the real issues that we all face in our lives. Did you know, though, that in the beginning God created all of us to enjoy a truly fulfilling everlasting life centered around a very real relationship with Him?
The reason so many people are unhappy and that our world is filled with so many problems, is that human beings have, from the beginning, chosen to ignore God and go their own way. The Bible calls this "sin".
God cant stand sin and so, even though He wants to have a relationship with us, He can’t because our sin cuts us off. We can try all sorts of things like being a "good person", doing good to others, following various faiths or even attending Church. The trouble is none of these things can get us back into that real relationship with God.
Because He loves us, God has made a way for us to have our relationship with Him restored. He sent His son, Jesus, into the World to remove the barrier, which our sins (the things we’ve done wrong) had placed between us and God.
Jesus lived a perfect life but was cruelly d on a cross so that we could be forgiven for all the wrong things we have done. On that cross, Jesus took the punishment, which we deserve. But Jesus didn’t stay dead! He rose from the dead so that sin and death were defeated once and for all. Even better, after he ascended to heaven to be with God the Father, He sent the Holy Spirit to empower us to live life in the way He wants us to.
The Bible tells us that all who call on the name of the Lord will be saved. Trusting Jesus and asking Him to forgive you will mean that you become a brand new person who can live the life that God has always planned for you.

This week's word...
"For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have."
